First year International Communication students organize African Charity Fair

On 8 June, first year International Communication students held a charity event in the atrium of Hanze UAS. The goals of the event was to increas awareness among the visitors for supporting projects in Africa, promote solidarity and commitment with the Hanze community.


The African Charity Fair is the final project of the fourth block of year 1: The Event. The students had to create a fundraising communication campaign for an NGO organisation active in Africa. During the fair the students had to provide visitors with information about their projects. In total their were over 20 projects represented. The students had to actively attract and involve the visitors by doing a presentation, a performance, a talkshow or quiz, and more.

A jury of eight communication professionals visited the fair and awarded points to the projects based on presentation, persuasiveness, coherence, creativity and style. The best four groups were announced at the end of the fair.

The class has its own Facebook page for this event, which includes lots of pictures taken during the event.
