Application Procedure

The International Student Office (ISO) handles all applications of foreign students who want to enrol for one of the study programmes in English or German, with the exception of students that want to apply for the Prince Claus Conservatoire and Minerva Art Academy*.

Apply through Studielink
When you have decided to apply for a study programme at Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen (Hanze UAS) you can complete an application through Studielink**. Upon receipt of your application, our International Student Office will contact you on the next steps in the application procedure.

Application review
Hanze UAS will review your application and will decide whether you are accepted or not. We aim at notifying students about whether or not they can be admitted within two weeks after receiving the application. When the application file is incomplete, your file may be put on hold or in some cases you may be provisionally accepted. You will then need to hand in the missing document(s) to become fully accepted.

Letter of acceptance
In case you are accepted we will send you an official letter of acceptance. You will be required to meet our enrolment requirements and you can start the procedure to apply for the various facilities that Hanze UAS offers.

Students who do not meet our admittance requirements will receive a letter of rejection. In this letter it will be stated how to appeal to the decision.

In some cases you may receive a letter of provisional acceptance at first. In this case you are not fully admitted yet. You still need to send your diploma and/or your language proficiency. Please be aware that you cannot enrol as a student until you have been fully admitted and you have received your final letter of acceptance.

*Students who want to apply for the Prince Claus Conservatoire and Minerva Art Academy always need to contact these departments directly.

**The Master in International Business and Management is a direct-entry master that will be offered for the first time in September 2013. Due to the fact that the master is a derivative of the professional post-experience MBA in International Business and Management which is currently being run, the new master is not officially in the Studielink application database yet. As soon as the last group of students from the MBA in International Business & Management will graduate, the new master will be listed in Studielink. This means that although the new master will be offered as of coming September, interested students have to apply for the current programme MBA in International Business and Management.
