Green Scooter Project
Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen offers free energy for scooters as part of the Green scooter project, a collaboration between the green power company Nuon, the Municipality for Groningen and Hanze UAS. On October 5 2009 the opening of the first free charging station for electric bikes and scooters in the Netherlands took place on Zernike Campus.
Owners of scooters and electric bikes can charge the batteries of their vehicles free of charge. The stations to do so are powered by solar and wind energy. In the next few months three more stations will open.
