Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen (Hanze UAS), has been cooperating with universities and institutes of higher education in development countries for over fifteen years. In 1995 Hanze UAS was first involved in two major projects in Burkina Faso and Eritrea.
The past few years, Hanze UAS has been involved in projects in Indonesia, Vietnam, Uganda, Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania, and Mozambique. Lecturers and staff members of Hanze UAS regularly visit these countries to teach and give advice. Hanze Centre for Development Cooperation also organises courses for teachers and managers of educational institutions in developing countries in the Netherlands. Here you can find a list of projects in which Hanze UAS has been involved.
Since a few years, Hanze UAS has offered an interdisciplinary minor on development aid, the minor International Aid and Development. This minor introduces students to several aspects of development aid. Students from several of our schools have also travelled abroad to developing countries for long-term training periods.
