Housing Office helps you find a place to live in Groningen

It is not easy to leave your house to study in abroad. You need to find new friends, adapt to a new culture and find a new place to live. Don’t worry. Great moments, people from other cultures and a great ambiance is what awaits you in one of the student residences that Housing Office offers. Spanish exchange student Pablo Suarez visited some of them to give you a first impression.

Winschoterdiep
Winschoterdiep is a huge house. It is the newest international residence in Groningen.  Situated close to one of the canals of the city, it has room for more than two hundred people in single or shared rooms. ‘The bedrooms and kitchens are enormous and brand new, because this is the first year that we use it’, says Elena De Diego, one of the residents. ‘Another advantage is that it is difficult to get bored with so many residents. The only disadvantage is that the residence does not have a common room, but we have created our own meeting points. The city centre is really close, just five minutes by bike.’
