Summer School ‘Doing Business in Europe’ at Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen starts at 28 May 2011

A large number of schools of Hanze (UAS) will be offering the Summer School entitled ‘Doing Business in Europe’ this year for the first time. The programme is targeted at students from the United States and Canada. On Saturday 28 May 2011 the first group of 15 students will arrive.


The programme runs from Monday 30 May till Friday 17 June of 2011 and is a mix of (guest) lectures, classes and excursions. All the economic study programmes are involved in this programme as well as the School of Sport Studies and the School of Computer Science.

Lectures and classes
The programme comprises three different themes:
• Marketing: Market Entry and Business
• Euro zone: Legal, Political and Financial
• Intercultural Management: European business cultures and Leadership

Excursions
The students will visit Amsterdam. The programme there includes a meeting Mr. Frank van Houten, the new CEO of Philips. In addition, the students will visit companies in Bremen such as Airbus and Daimler Benz. Obviously they will also pay a visit to the Groningen Sea Ports and Gasunie.

Students of the School of Facility Management and the School of Marketing Management offer a social programme. This programme includes a sports weekend, a day trip to the island of Schiermonnikoog and a number of ‘drinks & dinners.’
