Funds in The Netherlands


Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst (AFK)
The aim of this fund is development, innovation and reinforcement of the arts in Amsterdam. Every last Monday of the month the fund has a consultation hour for Speed Subsidy applications within the Basic and the Plus regulation. The applicant gets 30 minutes to present his/her project. The next day the applicant hears wether or not his/her project is granted funding.

Cultural fund Bank Nederlandse Gemeenten
The fund of the Bank of Dutch Municipalities stimulates activities in the area of art and culture.

Department of Art and Culture Rotterdam (dKC)
The aim of the department of Art and Culture Rotterdam is to encourage and reinforce the cultural climate of the city of Rotterdam. The dKC aims at creating favourable conditions for the production of art and culture.

Elise Mathilde Fund
Gives donations to projects of a cultural or social nature. Applications can be done for the purchase of an instrument as well.

Elsevier Subsidie Totaal
Overview of all subsidy regulations in The Netherlands. Only available through subscription.

Fonds 1818
Supports many initiatives each year among which also cultural or art projects. The fund has a separate section for projects where young people are involved.

This publication offers an overview of funds in The Netherlands.

Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie (fund for cultural participation)
'Art and culture for and by everyone, that is what the Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie stands for".  The fund is aimed at amateur art; art education and popular cutlure. The fund is especially interesting for producers and organisers.

Fondswervingonline.nl (website about fundraising)
Database for subsidies and funds. Only available by subscription.

Fundatie van de Vrijvrouwe van Renswoude
Financial support is given in the form of a grant or an interest-free loan.

Genootschap Noorthey
This association grants loans to students with a Dutch nationality for master and post master education.

Hendrik Muller Fonds
This fund supports promising young Dutch people financially with their studies (Bachelor and master programmes)

Kersjes Fonds
The Kersjes fund yearly supports Dutch music life through prizes and grants to talented musicians and by granting subsidies to special projects.

Mama cash
Invests world wide in women who contribute to changes in the world through art, culture and the media

Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds
Lends music instruments to professional musicians and people with the ambition to become a professional musician. In some cases the fund provides students with an interest-free loan.

Nederlands Fonds voor Podiumkunsten+ (NFPK)
Provides support to all forms of performing arts on behalf of the government. Provides subsidies for producing as well as for programming.

Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds
This fund stimulates conservation of nature and culture in The Netherlands and is one of the biggest Dutch private funds. 
The fund has a few special support programmes in the area of the performing arts:
- recently graduated musicians, for visiting a summerschool or following a masterclass
- young musicians until the age of 16
- recently graduated musicians for the purchase of instruments
- documentary makers for films about dance and music
- piano teachers
- initiatiors of projects that stimulate good use of voice
- music instrument maker
- multi-talented people who combine writing and composing

Schimmel Schuurman van Outeren
Financial aid to individual students in the age between 18 and 30, who have made a succesful start with their studies.

SNS Reaal Fonds
Supports a diversity of projects in three sectors: culture, culture education and science. 

Stichting DOEN
This foundation finances initiatives in the area of a.o. culture. Not for individual applications.

Van Bijleveltstichting
Supports professionals at the beginning of their career

Van den Ende Foundation
Provides subsidies and donations and contributes to work and study scolarships for reknown programmes abroad as well as educational projects for children and young people with a national scope .

Vermogensfondsen

Videoclipfonds
The TAX-videoclip fund provides subsidies with the aim to enhance the quality of Dutch videoclips and to stimulate and strengthen the collaboration between visual artists en (pop)artists.

Vreedefonds
Provides interest-free loans for Master and Bachelor students with excellent study results.

VSB Fonds
The VSB fund gives donations to projects in the area of art and culture.
In adddition a VSB Fund Scolarship is available for students who want to continue their education or do research abroad after completing their bachelor or master programme.
