Stimulating entrepreneurship is a strategic priority of Hanze University of Applied Sciences (UAS), Groningen. The Centre of Applied Research and Innovation Entrepreneurship is the central place at Hanze UAS where broad outlines are set, initiatives are developed and forces are joined. Lectors, PhD students, lecturers, students, companies and knowledge-intensive organisations find each other at this research centre. They are developing and sharing expertise in the area of entrepreneurship.
The aim is to stimulate, support and improve entrepreneurship among students and staff members of Hanze UAS. Another objective is to give advice to knowledge-intensive entrepreneurs in SME in developing or improving their business activities.
The Centre seeks to encourage the development of sustainable, innovative, knowledge-intensive companies in the region in order to contribute to a robust and sophisticated regional economy. The Centre of Applied Research and Innovation Entrepreneurship does this by setting up and conducting research, the results of which are made available to SME in the North of the Netherlands.
A striking feature of the research projects of the Centre is that they have a strong international component. The Centre of Applied Research and Innovation Entrepreneurship on the one hand participates in international projects to acquire and share expertise with the regions that are similar to the North of the Netherlands. On the other hand, the Netherlands is an exporting country and the research centre assists companies with internationalisation issues.
The Centre of Applied Research and Innovation Entrepreneurship hereby contributes to the ambition of Hanze UAS to become an internationally respected University of Applied Sciences.
