Registration
You can registrate at www.studielink.nl (digital application form). After registration you will receive an invitation for an admittance exam (assessment) which includes a home assignment and an academic assignment. The first round of assessments is in February.
Admittance exam
When you receive the home assignment (with the invitation) you are required to send a copy of your passport/id card, certified diploma and grade list back with the home assignment you made. On the day of the exam you show your portfolio which will be discussed by the assessment commission in a portfolio assessment.
The portfolio should consist of an overview of your work and should contain originals. It should also give insight to the process of your work, for example by sketches.
Besides the portfolio assessment the exam includes an academic assignment.
For candidates who are unable to attend the admittance exam because of traveling distance it is possible to send in a (digital) portfolio, the home assignment and a motivation letter.
Costs
The costs for the Admission text amount to € 25,- and you will receive an invoice for this sum from the Financial Administration Department.
Documents
Together with your application form, you will need to send us the following documents:
- certified copies of all diplomas and certificates
- a copy of your valid passport
- For the Fine Arts English class aproof of a sufficient level of English is required
(European/EEA nationality student need to send the documents before 1 September. Non-European/EEA nationality students need to send the documents before 1 June)
Education
For admissions, a distinction is made between sufficient and insufficient preliminary education.
Sufficient preliminary education:
(a diploma already obtained or expected to obtain this year)
- VWO (pre-university secondary education)
- HAVO (higher general secondary education)
- MBO 4 (intermediate vocational education)
- or foundation course in higher professional education or similar
Insufficient preliminary education :
- Diploma MBO 2, 3 (intermediate vocational education) or similar.
Even with insufficient preliminary education, you may still be admitted to the Academy on the grounds of ‘exceptional talent’ and a good performance in a test. The test indicates whether or not you can function at higher professional educational level. You must pay the costs of this test yourself.
