Interactive Media and Environments Painting Scenography

FMI Masters

The Frank Mohr International Masters (FMI Masters) forms part of Minerva Art Academy and provides three master courses: MFA Interactive Media and Environments (IME), MFA Painting and MFA Scenography.

The programmes are aimed at a practical as well as a theoretical development and broadening of the own position as a student within the field of study. These three courses are provided by FMI Masters in conjunction with the Centre of Applied Research and Innovation Art & Society and Groningen University (RUG).

International masters
Supervised and encouraged by expert and authoritative core lecturers, semester lecturers and guest lecturers, students work independently and formulate their own goals and ambitions. The FMI Masters programmes are internationally recognised, and were last accredited in 2007. On completion of the course the professional master is awarded an international master degree.

Cooperative programme
The FMI Masters are part of a cooperative programme involving:

We also work with a variety of educational institutes, cultural bodies and festival and event organisers, in the Netherlands and abroad, on activities such as exhibitions, presentations, shows, projects and workshops. As part of the programme there is a study trip to New York or another destination, which helps students to broaden their knowledge, experience and vision.

The FMI Masters are named after Mr A. Frank Mohr (1931-1998), cultural advisor to the city and province of Groningen and chairman of the advisory boards of the School of Fine Arts, Design & Pop Culture MINERVA and the Prince Claus Conservatoire. He was a fervent advocate of independence and innovation in art education in the North Netherlands.
