CENSI - Minor Sensitive Innovations

Applied Research in the field of sensor technology

CENSI
The Centre of Excellence for Intelligent Sensor Innovation (CENSI) is a Centre of Expertise at Hanze University of Applied Sciences. CENSI is part of the Hanze Institute of Technology (HIT) and is based in Assen in the province of Drenthe. The region aims to be Europe’s primary location for the development of sensor technology.

HIT’s Advanced Sensor Applications Honours Bachelor Programme educates and trains students to become engineers in the field of sensor technology, while CENSI provides a centre of applied research, where students can undertake minors, internships, student exchanges and graduation assignments. Within CENSI, multidisciplinary groups of students and lecturers work together on applied research projects. The three research lines at CENSI are Sport, Healthcare and Robotics.

Minor Sensitive Innovations
The focal point is the CENSI minor: Sensitive Innovations. This is a 20 week applied research programme (one semester) that is available to students from a wide range of study profiles and higher education backgrounds. Both HIT and CENSI provide an international base, where education and research is conducted primarily in the English language. CENSI welcomes students from many Hanze UAS programmes, as well as under-graduates and graduates from other universities in the Netherlands and worldwide.
