"In one corner of the exhibition hall, three guys tinkered with circuit boards and soldering kits. “They’ve been there all morning,” Jemma Davies, cofounder and project manager at The StudentWorld said. “They’re buildingrobot bugs. It’s just fun, really, but the point is to illustrate the difference between an applied university and a research one.” Set up by Hanze University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, the workshop also served to bring their sensor technology bachelors programme to life."
"These amateur electrical engineers were Simon Paul, 16, Bansu Osei-Tutu 17, and Birkan Parlar, 17. They go to school in Tower Bridge in central London and hope to start university in autumn 2013. “Our school told us about the Student World Fair, so we came along to find out more about our options,” Parlar said. As well talking to people from Hanze, the boys met representatives from universities in Lithuania and Canada."
