HIT Services offers a number of additional services to students, with the aim to enhance and support your daily life while studying at HIT. The institute is proud to have partners both in and outside its education programmes. Therefore, facilities or activities are organised or supported by partnerships with local businesses and organisations. Here is a selection of the additional services that HIT Services currently offers:
Pick-up service from Schiphol Airport to Assen
HIT gives added support to our overseas students by providing a pick-up service from Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam, when you arrive in The Netherlands. More information about the service will be available nearer to the start of the school year.
Student counsellor
You are a foreign student in a foreign county. This is a great opportunity, but this can also be rather overwhelming. Student counsellors are trained to inform, advise and support you with matters related to your study progress, but are also available for a confidential talk about personal problems. Some examples of matters to discuss with a student counsellor are:
• Personal circumstances or illness seriously affecting your study progress.
• Negative binding study advice.
• Procedure of appeal.
• Emergency fund (under strict conditions only).
Sport facilities
Sport and fitness are important to many students: A healthy body equals a healthy mind! Therefore, we have organised for sport facilities to be available for you in Assen. More information about locations, activities and prices will be available soon.
Hotel de Jonge
The Hotel de Jonge is located in the city centre of Assen. It includes a popular café and a restaurant. HIT students can enjoy a selection of quality meals at special prices. In addition, Hotel de Jonge has 54 comfortable hotel rooms. HIT students and their families can make use of a discount on the standard rate of a hotel room.
Drents Museum
The Drents Museum is well respected in The Netherlands, hosting many sought-after and popular exhibitions and cultural events. This attractive and historic building is a focal point in Assen and provides the perfect location to stage institute ceremonies and other prestigious events. The museum also offers students free access once a year.
The Drentsche Golf and Country Club (DGCC)
Explore the world outside! The DGCC is situated nearby, in a beautiful rural area, surrounded by lakes and nature. It is the biggest golf complex in the north of the Netherlands with its 27 holes.
If you are not experienced yet with golfing you can find several practice facilities located around the clubhouse
The Drentsche Golf & Country Club will offer one free group-lesson for HIT students and a discounted pass, presented to students at their first activity at the golf and country club.
