At Hochschule Emden/Leer and Hanze UAS, 2 teams of students are currently working on the realization of the project. At Hochschule Emden/Leer, Prof. Dr. Heike Nolte and Petra Ihnen are guiding the students in the research activities as well as Dr. Frank-Jan de Graaf and Dr. Franz Josef Gellert at Hanze UAS. In total, around 12 students are involved in the research.
The detailed objectives of the project are:
• To identify possible partnerships between the participating SME’s and the aim to have a number of LOI’s drafted on interregional cooperation between these SME’s.
• To transfer knowledge from a research group to a broader group of interested students of Hanze UAS and Hochschule Emden/Leer.
• To organize and hold a conference for SME’s and other interested organizations from North Netherlands and North-West Germany from the energy industry around this interregional cooperation potential.
• To publish a research report on the opportunities and ways of cooperation between SME’s in the energy industry of North Netherlands and North-West Germany (interregional cooperation).
The conference will take place on June 21, 2012 in Forum Alte Werft in Papenburg, Germany and is organized by Ralph Karsten of the Centers of Competence e.V. in Emden.
The results of the research and the conference will be published on school's websites as well as through newspapers, magazines and other public media.
The project is financed by the Ems Dollard Region (EDR), an organization that has established itself as the primary source in the region when dealing with questions of cross-border cooperation through means of the European INTERREG program (www.edr.eu/en/site/organization).
