You are the Programme Administrator of the master programmes of Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen (Hanze UAS).
What does your job entail?
As a programme administrator I am here to provide support for students and teachers, so they can work and study in a friendly, well-organized and efficient environment. I am responsible for the coordination of all aspects of the programme, such as admissions, scholarships, schedules, grades, exams, graduation, course materials, guidelines and - most important of all - communication between instructors, students, the programme manager and other offices within Hanze UAS.
What does an average working day look like for you?
There is definitely no routine in my work. Every day is different and I cannot complain about boredom. I very much enjoy days when students stop by for a chat or ask some questions, although it is also nice to have time to concentrate on a longer project during holidays and breaks, when everyone is away.
What do you like most about your job?
I make my first connection with students at the application stage, long before they join the programme. Then I assist them in various ways throughout the programme until their graduation. I find it rewarding and very motivating to be able to participate in this whole process, always keeping graduation as the final prize in mind.
