Professor/Lector

Frank Jan de Graaf started his career as a financial journalist and consultant at one of the big four. After finishing a PhD on the relationship between corporate social responsibility and corporate governance, he has been working as an advisor on  Responsible Investment for a Dutch pension fund.

Since 2007 he has been a professor of International Business at the Hanze University Groningen, University of Applied Sciences.

At the International Business School he is further developing his research on relationships between (international) business and (civil) society. Investors can be critical intermediaries in these relationships.
Besides being an academic, he is still working as consultant in the area of responsible investment, governance systems and corporate responsibility, institutional investors and economic development (including macro-economic risk). He is also dealing with the relationship between soft- & hard controls (values and money) and the role of investors in innovative middle size companies.
