Peter the Great festival
Once a year the Peter de Grote Festival for talented young string players, pianists and organists, is held in the city and province of Groningen and at the Prins Claus Conservatorium. It takes the form of a summer school and concert series and is organised in conjunction with the Euroregio Festival Muzikale Zomer. Chamber music lessons and master classes for young talented violinists, violists, cellists, pianists, and organists are given by renowned musicians from the Netherlands and abroad. There is also a series of chamber music concerts in historic locations given by the teachers and participants. For more information please contact Sipke Bakker, manager of external and monetary affairs.
Harten Aas Cultuurprijs
The ‘Harten Aas Cultuurprijs’ is held in order to stimulate the musical development of Prince Claus Conservatoire students, and is organised each year by the Holland Casino Groningen. Each year a competition/audition takes place where a jury, put together by the Holland Casino Groningen, awards two monetary prizes. One prize is awarded to the most promising student from the classical department, and the other to a student from the jazz department.
