I have known forever that I wanted to be a teacher, or something with music. When I found out that there was a programme that combines these two I was so happy.

Yes, I had to work hard, but I wanted to. Work placements, methodology, theory and making a lot of music. Not only on your main instrument, but we also learned to sing, play the drums,piano and guitar and we also learned to conduct.

I have learned a lot during my work placements. If you are a teacher you learn the hard way what works and what doesn't. And you can also find out what kind of a teacher you want to be.
After graduating I started to teach at a high school in Groningen. I love to teach. It's challenging to teach your students something they can take with them for life, even though they are not always that interested.

Besides teaching, I stayed to work at the Prince Claus Conservatoire. I am responsible for a.o. organizing projects and concerts. The Prince Claus Conservatoire is not only a school with high qwuality, it is also a very nice place to work!
