You Tube: Big Band plays for Queen beatrix and Princess Margriet

On February 1, 2008, the Dutch Queen Beatrix and her sister Princess Margriet celebrated their 70th and 65th birthdays, respectively. The celebration took place in the Carré Theatre in Amsterdam and featured diverse performances by performing arts students from across the Netherlands. One of them was the Big Band of the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen, conducted by Kurt Weiss. They played John Clayton's "Blues for Stephanie" and Sammy Nestico's "Magic Flea", which was cut out of the TV broadcast.
