New career move for Teepe
Bass player Joris Teepe (1962), head of the Jazz department of the Prince Claus Conservatoire (The Netherlands) and founder of the study program New York comes to Groningen, has built a successful international career in New York over the past 20 years. Being in charge of the jazz department and giving concerts in The Netherlands, Joris visited the country regularly in the past 10 years. He now decided to settle in The Netherlands for the benefit of his family. Therefore, Joris undertakes a new career move, with Amsterdam as home-base. “I have been in this profession for 30 years en I am looking forward to perform in Europe more often, although I will keep a work address in New York as well.”
This month, Joris will perform in New York in Smalls on November 15th with Greg Murphy and Gene Jackson and on November 24th with Scott Robinson and David Berkman. These concerts can be followed live by webcam on www.smallsjazzclub.com. On November 16th Joris plays at Rutgers University (Newark Campus) together with Lewis Porter and Vincent Gardner.
