Application Procedure

Entrance Requirements
Before entering the study programme you have to take an entrance exam (audition). This consists of two parts, a practical part and a theoretical part. They both take around 30 minutes and will take place on the same day. You hear that day if you passed the exams.

The entrance examinations will take place in May and June. You can download a schedule with dates of the entrance exams. Please note that there might be changes in dates, so check with the Education Administration if the dates that are in the schedule are still right.

Skype audition for non-European students
If you are a non-European student you can ask for an audition on DVD. Your dvd-audition will/can be followed by a skype-audition. The content of the skype-audition will be based on the dvd.  With these two auditions the head of the department will make a decision about your admission. Download the DVD Requirements:  Audition on DVD 2010 (pdf).

English study programme and language skills
The study programme of the Jazz department and the classical department are offered in the English language. In order to be admitted to the first year, a demonstrable English language skill level IELTS 5 is required. This corresponds to a TOEFL score of 500, or a CEF score B2. For a number of educational units in years 2, 3 and 4, an IELTS level 6 is an entry requirement. During the intake procedure, the conservatoire determines the foreign students’ English language skill level through a test. Students with a skill level lower than IELTS 5 are expected to take part in an English language course in their home country before entering our school.
