The Crash course is designed for students who want to thoroughly prepare for the general theoretical part (theory and aural) of the Jazz entrance examination of the Prince Claus Conservatoire. At the end of the course, you have the option to take part in a trial examination. The course is given by conservatorium teacher Ruurd Salverda.
Content of the crash course
The course material covers theoretical aspects such as: staves, key signatures, time signatures, notes, accidentals, note values, intervals, scales and chords (also chord symbols). There is also aural training in the areas of melody, chords and rhythm. At the conclusion to the course participants can take a free trial examination. Each course consists of 7 lessons of one hour, usually in March of every year. Please send an email to Wikje de Jong if you are interested in participating
Cost and registration
The course costs € 90-. After we have received your registration form, you will receive an ‘acceptgiro’(payment slip) by post for the full amount of the course.
