Practical Information
The Master of Music of the Prins Claus Conservatorium is a two year, full time degree program which awards graduates the internationally recognised title Master of Music. The Masters program is open to students who hold a Bachelor of Music degree in either Classical Music or Jazz or who are skilled on an equivalent level for all required competences.
Tuition
Students will be responsible for a tuition of €1.800 per year, which is only a part of the tuition of € 5.000.
Language Skills
In order to be admitted to the master program, a demonstrable English language skill level IELTS 6 or equivalent is required. Candidates have to send in a copy of a certificate demonstrating this level. Candidates who cannot deliver such a document are required to participate in an English language test. If the English level is not sufficient, you could do a summer course at your own expense, to acquire IELTS 6.
Application and admission requirements
To be admitted to the Master of Music candidates will be required to pass an entrance examination. In order to be invited for this examination candidates must complete the application form. The deadline for the application form along with the other required documents is May 1st, 2012.

Applying after this date is only possible in consultation with the school board.
In order to be invited for the audition the candidates must possess (at the latest before the Master program starts) a Bachelor of Music degree or demonstrate an equivalent level of skills for all required competences. The auditions will take place between May and July and possibly also in September 2012. There are a limited number of places available.
Entrance Examination
Candidates who are judged positively during the first round of admissions will be invited to take part in an entrance examination at the Prins Claus Conservatorium. The entrance examination consists of a live audition and an interview with the admissions commission. The fee for taking part in the entrance examinations is 25 Euros, this can be paid in cash on the day of the audition. In addition to the works chosen by the candidate, all candidates will be set a compulsory work to prepare. On the day of the entrance examination the student will be given 45 minutes to prepare this work with one of the accompanists or ensembles of the Prins Claus Conservatorium, and/or one or more of the Masters teachers. This part of the examination is intended for the commission to gain insight into the candidate’s musical vision of the work and the manner in which he/she is able to communicate this with his/her partner musicians. One of the partner musicians will be a member of the commission.
The interview with the commission will take place after the audition. Subjects for discussion will include, the proposed study plan, the audition/concert and the working process with the accompanist/Masters teacher. The commission will examine how the candidate’s wishes match with what the Masters program has to offer. In addition the candidate will be judged on whether they possess the reflective, innovative, and inquiring attitude (the master attitude) that is expected of Masters students.
Entrance examination result
After the examination process the commission will deliberate over whether or not the student should be accepted into the program. Within three weeks of exam the candidate will hear from a panel member if they have been admitted or not. This decision will also be confirmed in writing.
