The Preparatory Course

The Prince Claus Conservatoire finds it important to stimulate and guide young talented musicians.
Therefore we established the Preparatory Course, where you have the opportunity to develop your talent to the maximum. All courses at the Prince Claus Conservatoire begin with an entrance examination. If you pass the entrance examination you will follow lessons at the Prince Claus Conservatoire, often as a supplement to the lessons you already follow at a music school or with a private teacher.

The preparatory course offers you the opportunity to orientate yourself towards the Bachelor degree program and the professional music field.  Alongside that, it serves as good preparation for the entrance examination of the Bachelor degree.

Individual guidance
Because the guidance of talent needs to be individually tailored, the lessons on offer are specifically adapted to your development and needs as a student. After the entrance examination a binding recommendation is given over the program you will follow.

Two programs are offered in the Preparatory Course
- The Young Talent Class is designed for talented high school students. The lessons at the conservatorium are a supplement to the lessons that you are possibly already having at the music school or with a private teacher. The Young Talent Class can be followed in either Classical Music or Jazz.

- The Bridging Class is intended for aspiring students that are not admitted to the first year of the Bachelor degree programme, but who demonstrate enough potential to reach the required level in one year. The Bridging Class is directly connected to the first year of the Bachelor degree and is good preparation for the entrance examination. You can be admitted to the bridging classes of the degrees Music Education, and Music (Classical Music, Jazz, HaFaBra/Choir Conducting and CMS)
