The below introduction schedule is for students who start the International Communication major Bachelor programme. If you are an exchange or Master student, you will enjoy a different introduction programme and will receive information about this by e-mail.
Wednesday 5 September 2012:
On 5 September you are expected at the entrance of the E-wing of Zernikeplein 7 at the Zernike Campus between 9.00-9.15. At the entrance you will be welcomed by our introduction buddies and they will guide you to the location of the welcoming speech by the Dean of the School of Communication & Media.
09.30-10.00 Welcoming speech at "The Apple" by our Dean, Ms. Trijnie Faber, LLM .
10.00-12.00 Getting to know your academic counsellor (ACC) and classmates.
12.00-16.30 Introduction to Hanze's electronic learning environment, tour through campus &
assignment, picture taking.
During this day you will get full details about the programme for the following two days.
Thursday 6 September 2012:
9.00-16.00 getting to know the city, working on a special assignment. Please note that you should bring your own lunch.
We will meet in the city center at the Ossenmarkt at 9.00.
Friday 7 September 2012:
10.30-12.00 Meeting with your academic counsellor.
12.00-13.00 Break (please bring your own lunch).
13.00-15.30 Working on assignment and library tour.
15.30-16.30 Presentation of the assignment to your class.
19.30-00.00 Dinner in the city center and KIC introduction party.

Costs:
The costs for the introduction are € 30. You will have to pay on the first day of the introduction. This includes the dinner on Friday when you are going to a restaurant with your entire class. Make sure to bring some money in cash just in case you cannot use the ATM on the campus.
What to bring:
1. Mail that you have received from Hanze UAS, including log-in codes to access our digital learning environment
2. For Thursday it might be smart to bring your own lunch. Because this day will end in the city center of Groningen you can also choose to get lunch there.
3. It will also be handy to bring a camera (or your mobile phone) to take pictures.
4. In addition: if you have a memory-stick (USB), please bring this along.
Exemptions:
This week will be fun, busy, and educative. That’s why this introduction week is obligatory! Exemption from participation is only possible with a medical statement, which you need to send in before 2 September to Ms. Ellen van der Zijde: e.l.van.der.zijde@pl.hanze.nl
