The finals will be held at Martini Plaza in Groningen during the Energy Delta Convention. Of the 80 teams which competed in the 2011 NRG Battle just 15 were selected to compete in the finals.
At the International NRG Battle, ambitious students create innovative solutions for sustainable energy challenges. Student teams are first pre-selected from a large talent pool by leading energy companies, such as Gasterra, EON, Grontmij. These companies then provide cases for the students to work on.
In three preliminary rounds teams competed to come up with winning ideas for the cases at hand. During the preliminary rounds two MIC teams won the best presentation award on separate occasions, highlighting the skill MIC students have in capturing the audience's imagination.
The NRG Battle is a great opportunity for students to meet with big names in the industry and work with students from various backgrounds on important energy issues.
Selected teams will compete in the Global NRG battle, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur in 2012.
