Students make game about the European Union

Students of the major Game Design & Development are developing a game that sets out to help the younger generation with their understanding of the European Union, its political and democratic-decision making and the way in which young people can make a difference.

The students are developing this game on behalf of Alleato, an organisation from Utrecht which is concerned with social matters.

The major Game Design and Development started last September in the second year of Communication Systems.

Game Concepting, the first theme, has now finished up for the year with the end of the block and was judged by students with an eight on average. The evaluation showed, among other things, that students liked that the assignment was real and not fictitious. The students also indicated that they liked going to MBO schools to do usability research, where they could test the game concept on potential users from the target group.
