
The world is a global village. Over the last few decades, rapid technological advancements have made it possible for people all around the world to be in touch 24/7. Companies and organisations are increasingly expanding beyond the borders of their own countries. This requires expertise and critical understanding of intercultural competencies. There is a great need for communication professionals who can operate on an international platform.
International study enviroment
The International Communication (IC) major is a four-year programme which will prepare you for an (international) career in communication. The programme allows you to study communication in an international context, from an intercultural perspective, whereby English is the language of instruction. Of the more than 400 students in the IC major approximately half are Dutch. The other half is made up of more than 40 nationalities: a truly multicultural setting!
The programme emphasises work on real communication problems for real clients in international project groups. Furthermore, special attention is paid to intercultural competences and facilitation skills.
Graduate profile
During the programme you will be challenged to think critically and learn how to plan and implement communication strategies in an international context. You will graduate with the knowledge and skills needed to research, analyse and respond to issues crucial to communication.
