Welcome to the school of Computer Science

We would like to wish you a warm welcome from the School of Computer Science. Information Technology is all around us and its reach is spreading ever wider. If you want to expand your limits, you’ve come to the right place; whether you choose an approach along business lines, or you’re keener on the hardware side of things or else you’re ‘just’ interested in programming, we have three study programmes on offer that are perfectly matched to practical application: Business Information Technology, Computer Science and Technical Computer Science. You will be trained to become an independent, practice-oriented IT professional with an acute feeling for innovation and entrepreneurship.

To guarantee the link between these programmes and their practical use, we work in close alliance with more than twenty companies and institutions in the north of the Netherlands. They make recommendations regarding developments in the field of IT, supply work placements for both students and teaching staff, and play an important role in developing new teaching material.

IT graduates at the higher vocational level (HBO) find jobs faster than IT graduates at lower levels of education. In fact, there is a growing shortage of specialists in IT. When we talk of specialists, we don’t mean only the actual technicians. In particular, it is the creative thinkers who we can’t do without in terms of development and innovation. If you’re interested in IT, a whole world of opportunities lies open to you. Around 750 students are already enrolled here in a study programme. Make the choice that they made, and start creating your own world.
