During this (spring) semester you will be a consultant or an advisor in an industrial environment. You will advise an organization on how to expand in order to survive and/or anticipate on opportunities abroad.
In the first half of this semester the focus is on analyzing countries with new markets and perhaps working with more sustainable technology. In the second half a choice has been made for a specific country. You are going to set up a change of strategy for the organization and you investigate the feasibility of plans, especially aspects of marketing, cultural differences, HRM, organizational structures and the economic profitability of the investments.
International Industrial Entrepreneurship - TERM I
You will learn how to perform a country analysis for a company by methodically selecting a country to which a company in the energy sector can expand. You will gain insight in theory supporting such an analysis, practice the application of a filter model, and gain insight into and spot opportunities for new and existing technologies.
You will learn to report to the company in correct English. The company is described in a case. By working in students groups of mixed nationalities he will deal with cultural differences in a professional setting.
International Industrial Entrepreneurship - TERM II
In this theme you will investigate the possibilities of expanding an energy related business on an international level: the possibilities and feasibility of expanding internationally. The emphasis will be on several aspects of a business, such as Marketing, Human Resource Management (HRM). Organizational structure, Cultural Differences and Finance. The ultimate question that needs to be answered is whether internationalization will be successful and how this can be carried out best.
