International Industrial Entrepreneurship - TERM I You will learn how to perform a country analysis for a company by methodically selecting a country to which a company in the energy sector can expand. You will gain insight in theory supporting such an analysis, practice the application of a filter model, and gain insight into and spot opportunities for new and existing technologies. You will learn to report to the company in correct English. The company is described in a case. By working in students groups of mixed nationalities he will deal with cultural differences in a professional setting.

In this project you will learn to apply a correct model for selecting a country to which a company in the energy market can expand and you will advise a company based on the results of your study. In addition to further development of the general competencies for technology managers, you will be working on the following competencies: making a country analysis, doing a (pre-)feasibility study, developing strategy for a company, determining a company’s identity, developing plans for improvement, signalling development in the market, and diagnosing organisational problems. This project integrates the subjects Marketing, Business Economics, HRM, Cultural Differences and Organizational Structures. You have to write a management summary of a business plan describing how to set up a production unit for an energy related business in a given foreign country. The plan should incorporate the above mentioned subjects. This plan has to be presented and defended for the board of managers (the lecturers) in order to make an investment decision. The project will be carried out in groups of students, preferably a mix of students with different nationalities. The subjects below will provide a basis for completing the project. |

This game, originally developed for use by professionals, has been acquired by the department of Technology Management in 2010 and this department is the sole educational institution that has turned this game to an educational use. |
