During this (Spring) semester the student is a consultant or an advisor in an industrial environment. He advises the organization how to expand in order to survive and/or anticipate opportunities abroad.
In the first half of this semester the focus is on analyzing countries with new markets and perhaps working with more sustainable technology. In the second half a choice has been made for a specific country. The student needs to set up a change of strategy for the organization. He has to investigate the feasibility of plans, especially aspects of marketing, cultural differences, HRM, organizational structures and the economic profitability of the investments.
Programme
In this course you will investigate the possibilities of expanding a business on an international level.
During the first half of this semester you need to carry out a country analysis and a feasibility study for a technological company that needs to expand internationally in order to survive and/or to anticipate opportunities abroad.
The second part is about writing a business plan for the company that found positive results for a specific country. The emphasis will be on three aspects of a business, i.e. Marketing, Human Resource Management (HRM) and Finance. The ultimate question that needs to be answered is whether internationalization will be successful and how this can be carried out best. The technological company is situated in the energy sector.
