During a festive celebration on Friday October 22nd, 2010 the certificate for gaining the credits of the First Year program was handed over to 7 IFM students. In a short speech team manager Piet Hein Oosterhagen pointed out that this certificate might seem a small step in relation to the certificate that is presented at the end of the program. The moon at the horizon seems bigger then when it is at the top of the sky arc above us, he said, referring to the incomparability of things. The same can be seen in the perspective of excellence: the effort that a student has put into his or her study to gain a marginal result can caused by contextual situations be much bigger than where a student succeeds her first year with an average 7,7. That average was the above average result of the best scoring student of the first year students: Hanna Niebuur. Because of that fact she was presented with a gift checque and a bouquet.
