The Finance and Control in Medium Sized Companies Professorship combines research, education and practice to support medium-sized companies in the north of the Netherlands. The focus is on issues that are relevant to finance and control managers. Previous research has shown that this category of managers is predominantly concerned with the following current themes.
- Dealing with risk management;
- The role of e-finance;
- Dealing with non-financial control information.
These and other themes and the underlying subjects are identified and subjected to research in co-operation with the parties involved. Subsequently we will make practice-oriented recommendations that are applicable for all finance and control managers in medium-sized companies. The research outcomes will be made available to the medium-sized companies in a centre of expertise for Financial and Control in Medium Sized Companies that will be established shortly. In addition, the outcomes will be used to keep the curriculum of the School of Financial and Economic management up to date and practice-oriented.
