Content of the exchange programme Abdominal Ultrasound

The Abdominal Ultrasound course is a programme mend for students in their 3rd or 4th year.
The course consists of:

  • 8 weeks language course, theory and hands-on
  • 2 weeks Ultrasound Clinic SONAR
  • 2 weeks Internship
  • 1 week Assessment/Evaluation

After finishing the course you should be able to:

  • describe the basics of Ultrasound Physics
  • describe the production and interaction of ultrasound
  • describe, recognize and use artefacts
  • create artefacts in the human body
  • describe the normal Ultrasound Anatomy of the abdominal organs
  • examine the normal abdominal organs using ultrasound
  • implement methodical scanning by examining the abdominal organs
  • name the scanning planes used in Ultrasound
  • use the correct Ultrasound terminology
  • write an Ultrasound report using the correct terminology
  • recognize the most common pathology of the abdominal organs
