The Abdominal Ultrasound course is a programme mend for students in their 3rd or 4th year.
The course consists of:
- 8 weeks language course, theory and hands-on
- 2 weeks Ultrasound Clinic SONAR
- 2 weeks Internship
- 1 week Assessment/Evaluation
After finishing the course you should be able to:
- describe the basics of Ultrasound Physics
- describe the production and interaction of ultrasound
- describe, recognize and use artefacts
- create artefacts in the human body
- describe the normal Ultrasound Anatomy of the abdominal organs
- examine the normal abdominal organs using ultrasound
- implement methodical scanning by examining the abdominal organs
- name the scanning planes used in Ultrasound
- use the correct Ultrasound terminology
- write an Ultrasound report using the correct terminology
- recognize the most common pathology of the abdominal organs
