You become aware of the histories of Britain and the USA and generally of the countries within the Commonwealth. Students will know where the major players within the Commonwealth are situated as well as its main cities. You can use this information to provide background information with current issues and can give a presentation about a specific issue, using publications from quality sources in correct and topical English.
You understand the various cultures within the Commonwealth and can relate these to their own cultures.
You are taught to conduct a productive (business) correspondence with partners from different cultures, to summarise articles from relevant quality publications and to report in correct English about an issue that is relevant to your field of study, using various English sources. This minor will bring your language skills to level B2.
