Over the last twenty years the disciplines of Sport, Health, Adventure and Tourism have inextricably been moving closer together. However what separates sport from adventure is the notion of Risk taking. The popularity of international and national sporting events, together with an increase in sport health and adventure related tourism holiday packages acts as appropriate examples.
This minor programme will not only examine Sport, Health and Adventure Tourism from a political, economic and business perspective, but will also incorporate sociological and psychological theory and methods. Additionally, it will focus upon the developmental and organisational elements of this area ensuring students have the relevant practical and theoretical grounding required for management in the industry.
