There is a great demand for public affairs practitioners who are trained to operate in a dynamic political and societal context, have intercultural communication competences, and are concerned with communication in a market as well as a non-market environment. The specialisation Public Affairs prepares you for a challenging career in public affairs and corporate communication. You will explore the function of public affairs and corporate communication in the international environment, including the European one, and learn the strategic interest representation for public, private and non-profit organisations. Among our clients are: Gasunie, a European gas infrastructure company; Energy Delta Institute, an international research and education institute; stakeholders of a Healthy Ageing Network. The programme has good contacts with the Dutch Public Affairs association.
The Public Affairs programme focuses on the development of professional competences needed for the job of a junior consultant in public affairs or corporate communication: the ability to analyse and research communication environment; the ability to give an advice on a communication policy and interest representation; to develop a plan on corporate communication, concern communication, publicity, or grassroots support; and to suggest the evaluation plan.
