Healthy Ageing in education, applied-oriented research and projects is an extremely broad field. The activities within it have been split into the following themed clusters:
Care
Activities in the broad area of health care, often in conjunction with knowledge institutes such as the UMCG, and with care institutions and industry representatives.
Well-being
Activities in the field of social and mental health care, often in conjunction with municipalities (GGD – Municipal Health Services) and with GZZ (Mental Health Care Services, with target groups incorporating people in all life stages, from young to old.
Sport
Activities involving sport and movement, often in conjunction with umbrella sports organisations, and using the Sportfieldlab facilities.
Technocare / Health
Activities at the intersection between care and technology, applying ICT to the care industry, including in hospitals in the region.
Food & Nutrition
Activities around nutrition in relation to health, including with companies big and small in the food sector.
Work
Activities focused on topics such as Healthy Ageing at work and care work innovation (changes to the care professions), in conjunction with partners including the University of Groningen and the Care Innovation Forum.
Entrepreneurship
Activities focused on strengthening commercial activity in the area of Healthy Ageing (increasing job opportunities, new companies, etc), often in conjunction with SMEs in the region.
Music & Arts
Activities around Healthy Ageing, music and the fine arts, in conjunction with artists and various social organisations.
Home and home automation
Activities focused on a healthy home environment and the application of ICT/sensor technology in the home environment, in conjunction with housebuilding corporations, for example.
Medical and Biomedical Technology
Activities focused on medical product development and ICT applications, with partners including the UMCG and large and small enterprises.
