Healthy Ageing is the challenge of the near future. How can we extend the period in which we are healthy and active? And how can we organize society in such a way that everybody receives the necessary health care . An answer to this question is crucial because of the increase of the ageing population. A increasing number of people needs care and fewer and fewer people will be available to offer it. With themes like exercise, nutrition, labour and housing, Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen focuses on active and healthy ageing. Many study programmes and researchers are involved in this effort. The activities of schools and centres of applied research and innovation will be combined in the Healthy Ageing programme.
We are a partner in the Healthy Ageing Network Noord Nederland (HANNN). The north of the Netherlands aims to become one of the European top regions when it comes to research and development in the field of healthy ageing. Hanze University Groningen co-ordinates the theme of healthy ageing for all universities of applied sciences in the northern region.
