Anne is fysiotherapeut en onderzoeker bij het Instituut voor Sportstudies van de Hanzehogeschool. Voor het starten van haar promotieonderzoek bij het lectoraat Sportwetenschap heeft Anne in 2004 haar diploma fysiotherapie gehaald aan de Hanzehogeschool. In 2006 voltooide ze het Student Researcher Program bij het American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Amerika. In 2008 haalde ze haar master in Sports Medicine aan de Universiteit van Pittsburgh, Amerika. Van 2006 tot 2008 werkte Anne als onderzoeker in het Neuromuscular Research Laboratory, Pittsburgh, Amerika. Haar onderzoeksinteresses zijn pathomechanica van voorste kruisband (VKB) blessures, neuromusculaire controle in relatie tot VKB blessure preventie, het opsporen van mogelijke oorzaken voor het grote verschil in het aantal kruisband blessures tussen mannen en vrouwen en controle van de onderste extremiteit tijdens functionele / sporttaken (bij gezonden, VKB deficiënte en VKB gereconstrueerde patiënten). Anne is tevens werkzaam bij de Rijksuniversiteit van Groningen, faculteit Bewegingswetenschappen, waarbij ze samen met het Universitair Centrum voor Sport, Bewegen en Gezondheid van het UMCG aan haar promotieonderzoek (“An investigation of motor learning during side-step cutting, design of a randomised controlled trial") werkt. Hierbij wordt gekeken naar de effecten van een interventie op het centrale somatosensore en neuromusculaire systeem en hoe dit mogelijk dynamische stabiliteit van de knie bevordert, teneinde de incidentie van VKB blessures te verlagen.
