About this minor

You will get lectures on Design Methodology, Sustainability, Creativity, Research Skills, Sensor Technology and other areas of your choice, but most of the time will be used in a practical project that aim to design products tailored for specific needs and develop those product ideas into working prototypes.

We admit students with a technical or IT background, but students from non-technical fields that would like to enhance their understanding of the possibilities of new technology applied to their own field are also welcome.

Programme

In a multi-disciplinary student team you will work on a project assignment, designing and creating a new and useful service or product. The Institute of Engineering in Assen provides an inspiring learning and research environment. Applied research is conducted and knowledge is created and re-distributed among different partners, such as research institutes, (HBO) knowledge centres and companies involved in sensor innovation. Besides your project work, you will follow classes (see course outlines below) that provide knowledge needed for the project.

Before you can start

We admit students with a technical or IT background, but students from non-technical fields that would like to enhance their understanding of the possibilities of new technology applied to their own field are also welcome. There are enough possibilities for non-technical students to gain a basic knowledge of the field without becoming involved in the hard-core technical aspects.
