Finance, Tax and Advice

First year

First year

This year is intended to give you a solid financial and economic basis that is important for each of our courses. In addition, work is being done on skills such as presentation, reporting and English.  A project is linked to each block in which you work on a case in a project group. The big advantage of this is that you immediately apply the knowledge you acquire during the courses in practice and you learn to work together.

After the first year

After the first year

From the second year you learn, among other things, that information provision and business economics can not exist without each other. You make an annual planning for the goods and cash flows of a company and learn everything about, for example, preparing an annual account, the corporate tax and liquidity management. During projects you work together with your classmates on current projects so that you can immediately apply your knowledge in practice. Finally, you work on your communication, research and advisory skills. In year 4 you can further specialize by means of a minor and conclude your study with a graduation assignment.

Studying in another country sometimes takes some time to getting used. Another culture, other people, the language is unknown and the environment is not known. At the start of your study you will therefore get a study career counselor who helps you as much as possible. In addition, there is a large group of international students at Hanze UAS.

An internships of five months occur during the second part of the third year. This internship wil take place at an international organization in The Netherlands. Dutch students will do this internship abroad. By working in a company and by carrying out an assignment you experience to work in an international organization.

The fourth year starts with a minor program of half a year. How you fill this out is up to you. For example you can do a minor International Sustainable Entrepreneurship at the School of Financial Economic Management, a minor in another part of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences or at another university of applied sciences at home or abroad is an option.

In the second part of the fourth year, you complete your study program with a thesis, a research assignment in which you carry out a study at a company where you work for a large part of the week. This results in your graduation product in which you show that you are ready to start working as a starting financial professional.
