Hanze UAS excels in entrepreneurship
Groningen, April 3, 2017 - Last week the data from U-Multirank 2017 have been released. Hanze UAS Groningen has gained rank five worldwide in the subcategory Graduate companies (category knowledge transfer), in which 1,465 international institutions participate. In the Netherlands Hanze has become the number one university in this respect. In addition, Hanze UAS became number three in the subcategory regional joint publications (category regional focus) of 1,236 institutions worldwide and number one in the Netherlands.
This conclusion can be drawn from data from U-Multirank 2017 which have become available today at www.umultirank.org. The European ranking has compared more than 1,500 research universities and universities of applied sciences in 99 countries worldwide. U-Multirank has carried out its research with the support of the European Commission since 2011. The rankings are published annually.
Hanze UAS Groningen is proud of achieving these results and it will continue on this road. In Innovating Together, the strategic plan 2016-2020, the ambition has been laid down to launch 500 new companies annually by 2020, thus creating 5,000 new jobs .
In addition, Hanze UAS made considerable investments in the field of regional cooperation in a number of ways including the creation of living labs: physical or virtual entities in which research, teaching and professional practice come together.
Some examples of realized projects include the experimental energy site EnTranCe, Gebiedscoöperatie Westerkwartier, Health Hub Roden and the ZAP education and training facility.
