2018 Unfixing Histories

In days of discussions about a historical canon it is important to understand how historical photographic images are made, read and shared. Under the title Unfixing Histories work from artists who use historical photographic images to make art, will be presented in the city of Groningen in various art spaces in April 2018. These exhibitions invite the spectator to think, together with the makers, about images and the truths they proclaim or the stories they tell.

Participating art spaces are Gallery Block C, SIGN, USVA, Minerva Art Academy and Noorderlicht Photogallery. Unfixing Histories was initiated by Andrea Stultiens, artist and curator, and also teacher and researcher at Minerva Art Academy (Hanze University of Applied Sciences), Groningen.
