Participatory Music Practices with Elderly People and Healthcare Professionals

This doctoral research project is a qualitative ethnographically informed study that aims to find what kind of learning and meaning making happens for various healthcare professionals who take part in interactive participatory music sessions with vulnerable elderly patients. The research investigates what the music practices can mean for their occupational well-being, their contact with their patients, and how the situated musical experiences can contribute to the quality of their care delivery and working culture.
