International Applicants​

  • Applicants with an EU-nationality (not including Dutch applicants): 15 August​
  • Applicants with a non-EU nationality: 1 June* **

* Due to an intensified control on students from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal the application deadline is 1 April.

** For students already living in the Netherlands and in possession of a residence permit the deadline is 15 August.

Exchange Applicants:

The exchange application process is not the same as the application process for degree programmes. More information on the exchange application process can be found on the exchange ​​application procedure page​.

​​​​​​In order to apply for a programme there are different application requirements and forms to complete. Up-to-date admission requirements can be found on the programme page of the study programme of your choice.

Application requirements​

Bachelor's programmes

All applicants for Bachelor's programmes apply through Studielink. Instructions on how to apply through Studielink can be found here.

  • ​​​certified copies of all diplomas and certificates, as confirmation of academic achievements
  • proof of a sufficient level of English, see language requirements
  • a copy of your valid passport or ID
  • in some cases a letter of motivation

​Master's programmes

All applicants for Master's programmes apply through Studielink, unless you want to apply for Sustainable Energy System Management, International Communication or Renewable Energy, which involves applying through the specific programme's website. Instructions on how to apply through Studielink can be found here.

  • overview of subjects taken
  • a copy of your valid passport or ID

Exchange programmes

Exchange programmes are only open to students from partner universities of Hanze UAS. Students or partners follow the application procedure.

  • ​​​transcript of records (your most recent grade list)
  • Erasmus+ learning agreement (Erasmus students only)
  • a copy of your valid passport or ID;​
  • portfolio or url to online portfolio (Art students only)​

Certificate programmes

Certificate applicants follow the same basic guidelines as bachelor's applicants but apply here.

Preparatory Course English

A preparatory course is available for certain bachelor's and master's programmes. If you want to apply for this course, please send an email to admissions@org.hanze.nl​.​ 

You will also be notified about the Preparatory Course if your English language proficiency is seen as insufficient after applying for a bachelor's or master's programme in Studielink.

  • the English proficiency requirements for the Preparatory Course are: IELTS overall 5,5 (with a maximum of 2 subscores of 5,0. No score under 5,0 will be accepted)
  • students need to pass an interview

Application Re​​view

Hanze UAS will review your application and will decide whether you are accepted or not based on the admission requirements of the programme you applied for. We aim at notifying students about whether or not they can be admitted within two weeks after receiving the application. If the application file is incomplete, your file may be put on hold or in some cases you may be provisionally accepted. You will need to hand in the missing document(s) to become fully accepted.

Letter of Acceptan​​ce

In case you are accepted we will send you an official letter of acceptance. You will be required to meet our enrolment requirements and you can start the procedure to apply for the various facilities that Han​​ze UAS offers.

Students who do not meet our admittance ​requirements will receive a letter of rejection. In this letter it will be stated how to appeal to the decision.
In some cases you may receive a letter of provisional acceptance at first. In this case you are not fully admitted yet. You still need to send your diploma and/or your language proficiency. Please be aware that you cannot enroll as a student until you have been fully admitted and you have received your final letter of acceptance.​​​

For Chinese applicants: Application and delivery of an online Verification Report (CHESICC-DUO)

Chinese applicants that are (conditionally) admitted can request an online Higher Education Student Record or a Qualification Verification Report via the CHSI archive as certified proof of their graduation diploma and transcript. 

Click the DUO function to confirm the required verification report(s). An English version of the report(s) must be requested.

After applying to Hanze University of Applied Sciences the applicant will receive a student number. Applicants will need to input their student number and choose the Hanze University of Applied Sciences code (25BE) when sending an online report(s).
