The practice-based research of the Research Group Image in Context focuses on new roles, practices, and working methods of artists. We explore how visual artists can fulfil their role within the social, political, educational or intercultural domain.
Various artistic working methods are used as catalysts in processes of social change, through collaboration in teams consisting of researchers, lecturers, students, and societal partners. From transdisciplinary research and learning environments and through co-creative approaches with artists and designers, we contribute to shaping the participatory society of the 21st century.
The Research Group Image in Context is affiliated with Minerva Art Academy and is part of the Research Centre Art & Society.
