Faith

Faith is one of the Erasmus+ students that studied at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen in 2022. Faith is a student at Uganda Christian University (UCU).

“I am currently working at the sales department at an insurance company. I studied marketing and finance in the Netherlands and now I get to apply what I’ve learned. In Uganda I am studying Human Resource Management.”

“It was time I left home, first time outside Uganda. But even though I has some issues in the beginning, I found my way. I realized, in the Netherlands, you have to look for solutions on your own. The pace in the Netherlands is very fast. The pace at which they teach is very fast, very different from home.”

“I became more confident, I became more brave and learned how to keep time. This is something I also apply now. If you are not on time, you have to communicate. During the interview the company could really tell I am the person who can take on the job because I do things different from the Uganda way. My employers like that I am on time, committed and straightforward in my communication.”

“After graduation, I don’t wat a job, I want to start a business myself.  I am still in touch with people from my exchange, especially my Dutch friends. This is very helpful later on, because the bigger your network, the bigger your business will get. Before I start a business, I would like to do a Master in digital marketing. I want to be ahead of the evolving digital world. I am going to be successful!”
